SUMMER DRAMA CAMP As part of the Park District’s SUMMER DAZE, the Carbondale Park District in cooperation with The Stage Company will offer to the young people in Jackson County, Grades 1 through 6, “Exploring Arts and Theater” July 7-11 and 14-18 “This high-energy camp is for children who love drama and the arts and who are looking to build their creativity, confidence, self-esteem and leadership skills through the performing arts. The two-week camp concludes with ‘An Evening of Entertainment’ featuring a performance put on by the campers. Participants will learn about the many components of theater production, from costumes and makeup to set design and movement. This camp meets at the Hickory Lodge, 1115 West Sycamore.” Campers will be taken on field trips to working theater companies for a ‘backstage’ look at how everything is done. Tuition is $245.
