Inclusivity

You are the Jackson County Stage Company!

You are welcome. You can be yourself. Come create with us.

The Jackson County Stage Company, as a nonprofit community theatre organization, is committed to model diversity and inclusion in our region. We respect and value diverse life experiences and heritages, strive toward equitable treatment of all people, and support those who nurture diversity and equity while sharing our dedication to creating and maintaining an inclusive environment for all.

We seek a membership and leadership that reflects the fullness and richness of our diverse community where each person feels empowered to be their full authentic selves. Our goal is to create a welcoming culture or environment that is collaborative, supportive, and respectful for all people regardless of race, religion, gender identity, gender expression, sex, sexual orientation, age, status, or physical ability.

1. We pledge to reflect diversity in our leadership, membership, and in our artistic efforts, whether on stage or behind the scenes.

2. We pledge to invest more time and effort into equipping Directors with clear opportunities to  create more inclusive spaces and with guidance on how to foster healthy communication which is  sensitive and nurturing and which assists in developing and maintaining a mentally safe  environment.

3. We pledge to offer more training, which will expand skill sets for an increasingly diverse group of people from which to draw upon, creating more spaces and opportunities to participate in our artistic and leadership endeavors.

We are stronger together.

You are the Jackson County Stage Company.

The Jackson County Stage Company is you.
