While one can become a Stage Company member any time, this is the time of year when memberships are renewed. Unlike some organizations who describe their donors as “members,” the S.C. has always worked to keep those categories separate. Donors are those who help our Company financially and are usually faithful audience members. Members, on the other hand, are those who want to participate in our production activities – not just as actors—but also as part of the production staff. There are perks to being a member which include two free tickets to a production in which a member is working, special discounts on workshop fees and/or other productions (such as readers’ theater), invitation to our two social events of the year (our annual picnic in May and our mid-winter holiday party) and our annual Appreciation Gala held to honor our donors.
Our Vice President for Operations, Sarah Dubach, is in charge of sending out renewal notices, which will be appearing soon. It is also important to note that if you joined the S.C. any time after March 31, 2017 you are considered paid up for the 2017-18 season. The fee structure is: individual membership — $20.00; student membership — $10; and family membership — $35.00. The Stage Company expects all those who appear on our stage or on our production staffs to become members. This is an important source of income which allows the S.C. to succeed. And note, if becoming a member is a financial burden, please see President Jeanne Ferraro or V.P. Sarah Dubach for possible scholarship assistance. And while we’re on this subject, the annual fund raising letters have gone out to donors, but it you know of someone who is not currently a donor, but you think might be a good prospect, please forward their name to Jeanne at firstname.lastname@example.org
